When a roof system is beyond repair or restoration, we can install a re-roofing system. This can be done by a complete tear off or a roof overlay. Serving as the building’s only protection against the elements and weather, the roof is not only the most vulnerable part of the structure, but its integrity is essential, as it ensures the contents, furnishings, data, records and valuables in the building against weather damage. When it is time to re-roof, Horizon Roofing can provide you with the best solutions for your facility and budget.
At some point during the life of a roof, the need for a retrofit or a complete replacement arises. When your roof has been damaged by weather, wear and tear or other elements, needs to be repaired or has reached the end of its serviceable life, a re-roofing option may be your only solution.
Although it is appealing to continually do repairs on a failing roof since repairs require less labor, material and time (i.e. cost), it is important to understand that there comes a point in time where doing simple repairs vs. replacement/retrofit can be causing more harm than good. At that time it is important to select the right roofing contractor to honestly assess the condition of the existing roofing system and provide the best possible short and long term roofing strategies that can include both repair and re-roofing solutions.
Horizon Roofing has years of combined experience in new roof installation involving commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing systems on a wide variety of structures. In addition, we are fully licensed and insured. We also understand the need to minimize disruption during the project and will work with the appropriate personnel to ensure a “smooth” installation.

Are you experiencing roof leaks, is your commercial building roof showing signs of age, have multiple repairs been made, is the property manager getting complaints from tenants. CALL US.
Horizon Roofing’s commercial roof maintenance program protects your investment and your business by identifying the obvious and hidden dangers that threaten your roofing system’s performance and integrity. How well a roof performs over time depends on not only the quality of installation, but also how well the roof is maintained. Since the roof is probably the largest single depreciating element on the average building and is expected to require replacement at least once in the life of the building, it makes sense to have a comprehensive maintenance and roof restoration plan in effect.
Too often, roofing problems become apparent only after considerable damage has been done to the roof system, and possibly your facility, furnishings, data records and equipment. When professionally installed and maintained, your roof is a silent partner. A maintenance program is proactive rather than reactive. It can help identify problems in their early stages, while they can still be corrected and before they can become catastrophes. If you are not installing a new roof system, then you should be maintaining and repairing the existing one, or planning for its inevitable roof replacement. Horizon Roofing’s dedication to service and maintenance converts to a longer lasting investment for you and your business.
Protect and prevent your building from harm and potential damage by preserving the condition and value of your investment by waterproofing. Horizon Roofings team approaches any-size waterproofing job with knowledge and experience.

Thermoplastic polyolefin, or TPO, is the fastest-growing segment of the commercial and industrial roofing industries. Fueling this growth is the increased use of TPO in southern climates, where reflective, energy-efficient and cool roof products are becoming the norm.
- Mechanically fastened and fully adhered TPO ROOFING SYSTEM
- Heat-wieldable membrane
- Colors: white, gray and tan
- High wind uplift performance
- Hail and puncture resistance
- Top ply membrane thickness adds improved long-term weather ability and durability
- California’s Title 24 and complies with LEED® credit requirements
- Meets ENERGY STAR® guidelines
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is a trusted membrane that has been performing admirably for decades in the European market and in North America. PVC also offers excellent resistance to rooftop chemicals, including acids, oils and greases.
- Mechanically fastened and fully adhered PVC ROOFING SYSTEM
- Heat-wieldable membrane
- UL/FM codes and approvals
- ENERGY STAR-rated, CRRC-listed and Title 24 compliant
- Enhanced property characteristics for long-term weather ability
- Excellent chemical resistance ideal for restaurant and airport applications.
- Membrane compounded for maximum flexibility
EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer) has a 45-year track record of proven performance and provides low maintenance and excellent weathering characteristics that make it the ideal roofing option for most northern climates. The traditional black color of EPDM membrane attracts the sun’s solar energy and can help to reduce heating costs during the cold, northern winters.
- Fully adhered EPDM systems
- BALLEST ROOFING SYSTEMS
- Adhered/glued seams
Polymer-modified roof membranes are composed of reinforcing fabrics that serve as carriers for the hot polymer-modified bitumen as it is manufactured into a roll material. Modified bitumen roof system membranes are composed of multiple layers, much like built-up roofs.
- Fully adhered with hot bitumen, cold adhesive or torch
- Multiple plies
- A variety of types are available to provide resistance against foot traffic
- Mineral, smooth or flood and gravel are available for surfacing
Built-up roof membranes, referred to by the acronym BUR, have been in use in the U.S. for more than 100 years. Built up roofing systems are commonly referred to as “tar and gravel” roofs. BUR systems generally are composed of alternating layers of bitumen and reinforcing fabrics that create a finished membrane.
- Fully adhered with hot bitumen or cold adhesive
- Multiple plies
- Smooth or flood and gravel are available for surfacing
Roof coatings are becoming more and more popular in prolonging the life of both traditional and metal roofing systems. Roof coatings can be applied by either the rolling or spraying methods and essentially add a ‘top coat’ to the existing roofing system. Similar to retrofitting a roof, Roof coatings are a popular alternative because it is more cost effective than a retrofit. Additionally, compared to a retrofit which essentially adds another layer of roofing material, Roof coatings create a chemical bond to the current roofing substrate essentially ‘bulking up’ the existing system. Most coating manufacturers offer 5 or 10 year system warranties on coating Installations.
An alternative to traditional roofing is using a metal roofing system. Although the initial investment is higher compared to a traditional roofing system, metal systems have been shown to last 2-3 times as long compared to those traditional systems which typically last anywhere from 10 to 20 years.
Another benefit to metal roofing systems is the flexibility on colors and designs. Metal roofing systems can come in the form of standing seam, flat seam or can be made to look like asphalt shingles, tiles or cedar shakes. Although metal roofing systems can come in the form of copper and stainless steel, the most popular choices are aluminum and steel.
